About the set
- This set is amazing. The sword, Aarnum's Fiery Blade, is quite powerful, even when used at a low level. It only uses up a weapons slot if socketed properly, leaving room for whatever armor you want (Some sets include armor and rings that aren't too good i.e. Khrag's Splint Guards [Dark Elf]). Remember, it requires a minimum of 10 Sword Lore to use any of the items from this set.
- However powerful, the sword does only fire damage, making it weak against fire-resistant enemies (such as all denizens of the Lava region, and, to a lesser extent, Orcs). Therefore it is advised to complement its fire damage by rings which grant other damage types socketed into armor slots if one intends to use this otherwise amazing weapon against such foes.
- Since dragons are considered "mages", if you have the whole set and a strong long-range CA (a powerful ranged weapon will also do nicely), killing them is a walk in the park. Root them using the special set bonus (not only will they lose their ability to move around, they cannot do anything) and bombard them from a range. (NOTE: of course, you will have to "attack" them with the sword once in a while to keep them rooted, so if you use a ranged weapon to defeat the dragon, keep in mind switching to Aarnum's blade every now and then.)
Aarnum's Fiery Blade with the three rings socketed into it.
The set bonuses
|Chance for Open Wounds||3||9%||12%||15%||18%||21%|
|Bind Ranged Fighters and Mages||4
With 3 items, you gain a "Chance for open wounds".
With 4 items, you also gain Lifeleech.
If you socket all 3 rings into the weapon, you also gain a "Bind ranged fighters and mages."
Aarnum's Fiery Blade is powerful as a standalone weapon, dealing out massive amounts of fire damage. If you get one more of the pieces, you get a bonus to sword lore, making a combination of any of the rings + the sword a desirable addition to your armory.
