The Skills

Skills improve the hero's characteristics in many different ways. Each character class has different skills. Every hero starts adventuring with 2 requisite skills. On reaching the next experience level, the player can distribute additional skill points in order to improve these existing skills. The number of skill points gained depends on the level of the hero. As a hero develops they will be able to learn up to 6 additional skills; a new skill is available at each of the following level intervals: 3, 6, 12, 20, 30 and 50. These abilities are very powerful and they should be chosen carefully depending on the character class and the preferred style of playing.

List of Basic Skills

Agility


Agility is a skill available to all characters. Increased levels of Agility improve both your defense and Attack Rating values, making combat much easier.


Armor

Increased levels of Armor provide greater Resistance by enabling more effective use of equipment, and also permit increased movement speed by reducing the encumbrances imposed. Additionally, some equipment carries a minimum armor level to be equipped and, as well, wearing armor with specific resistances and damages can imbue the wearer with an armor glow which confers additional protection in the form of a resistance bonus.


Axe Lore

Axe Lore is a Skill. It increases the speed and effectiveness of attacks made with axes. Additionally, certain axes carry a minimum Axe Lore requirement to even be wielded. Only the Gladiator, Vampiress, Dwarf, and Daemon have the Axe Lore skill available. This skill may be chosen beginning with the skill selection at level 3.



Concentration

Improves the regeneration rate of all combat arts


Constitution

Increases life energy and improves its regeneration rate


Disarming

Increases the chance to disarm opponents in combat. Amount of disarmed items changes depeding on foe. From most foes it can disarm weapons and shields, but some foes also carry armors and special items. Battle Mage also can disarm opponents with Whirlwind spell. Bonuses from disarming skill and Whirlwind are not stacked.


Dual Wielding

Enables the wielding of two weapons during combat, increases attack value and speed


Long-handled Weapons

Long-handled Weapons is both a skill and a classification of weapon type.

The skill Long-handled Weapons enables a character to better utilize weapons of this type.

The weapon types that are considered long-handled are:

  • Polearms
  • Spears
  • Staves, or Staffs (most, but not all – some staves are short and/or one-handed)

The depiction of a weapon will indicate if the skill Long-handled Weapons will benefit its use.



Magic Lore

Increases the damage dealt by all types of magic spells.

Magic Lore is a skill available to all character classes able to perform spells (Battle Mage, Daemon, Seraphim and Wood Elf).


Meditation

Improves the regeneration rate for all spells


Parrying

Attacks can be parried (deflected) with weapons and shields


Ranged Combat

Ranged Combat is a Skill available to some character classes. Increased levels in Ranged Combat allow faster and more effective attacks with bows, crossbows & firearms (Dwarf only). Additionally, some weapons carry a minimum Ranged Combat requirement, and so cannot be used without this Skill.


Riding

Skills Mounts

Available for: all classes except Dwarf


With Riding chosen as a skill, your character will gain the following bonuses:


- Higher level/better quality mounts can be ridden

- Mounts charge attack does more damage

- Mounts charge attack lasts longer

- Attack rating on horseback is improved

Sword Lore

Increases the speed and effectiveness of attacks with swords


Trading

With the Trading skill, Merchants will offer goods for sale at a better price, will pay more for items you are selling, and are more likely to offer higher quality items.

Available for : All classes except Daemon


Unarmed Combat

Increases the speed and effectiveness of hand to hand attacks in close combat (with bare hands or combat gauntlets)


Weapon Lore

Weapon Lore is a Skill that characters can select. With increased points in Weapon Lore, attack effectiveness with all weapons is increased, enabling greater damage to be inflicted upon enemies.

Air Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of air magic

Earth Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of earth magic

Available for : Battle Mage


Fire Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of fire magic

Available for : Battle Mage


Water Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of water magic

Available for : Battle Mage



Daemon


Hell Power

Improves the regeneration rate and casting times for Daemon spells.



Dark Elf


Ballistics

Increases the damage dealt by traps, and improves the regeneration rate and attack speed

Available for : Dark Elf


Blade Combat

Increases the speed and effectiveness of attacks with Dark Elven blade weapons

Available for : Dark Elf


Trap Lore

Improves the regeneration rate of all trap-laying abilities

Available for : Dark Elf



Dwarf

Forge Lore

Forge Lore is a skill available to Dwarves only. It replicates the ability of the Blacksmith to forge enhancements to weapons and armor.

As the level of lore increases, the Dwarf becomes more skilled – able to forge better enhancements to equipment and to also work with higher quality items. Additionally, the cost in gold is reduced. The Dwarf has the ability to insert all of the same types of items the Blacksmith is able to (amulets, rings, runes and the special items such as Scale of a Dragon or the Orbus Dracos - Full. Additionally, the Dwarf can also forge:

  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Resistance and Special Item Find




Seraphim


Celestial Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of the Seraphim´s celestial magic

Available for : Seraphim



Vampiress


Bloodlust

Bloodlust is a Vampiress only skill. It enhances certain vampiric attributes.


Vampirism

Improves the regeneration rate for vampire abilities. The vampire suffers less damage during the day.

Available for : Vampiress

Wood Elf


Moon Magic

Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of the Wood Elf´s moon magic
