From Slater's Grave, head North west up the path and get to the river. When you get there, grab the item and head back to the quest giver. The quest is complete and you receive XP and a ring.
Detailed Walkthrough
The Magician Fabian is preparing a new experiment and requires fresh spring water for it and asks you to help him with it. You agree to do so and head north east up the path to the river. You get to the river and find the water (invigorating). You head back down the path to the magician. You return to Fabian and he thanks you and states that he is finally able to complete the experiment. The quest is complete and you receive XP and a ring.
