Myth

For aeons, the Creator has been designing worlds. He populated each of these worlds with an intelligent race to ensure He would have a steady supply of worshippers. Since the beginning of time, the Seraphim and their leaders - the Archangels - have been by the Creator's side to assist him. Thus the cycle remained in harmony, until the Archangels took it upon themselves to forge their own world. They siphoned the ethereal creative energy without The Creator's knowledge and used it to forge their own world, placing several intelligent races upon it. Each of these races was given the freedom to pursue its own goals. The Archangels named this world Ancaria.

It was not before long that The Creator became aware of the Seraphims' actions. However, rather than destroy Ancaria, he chose to banish the Seraphim to this world and ordered them to protect and guard their creation. He would only set foot on Ancaria if and when the Seraphim were able to unite all races peaceably.

Alas, this was not to happen so easily. The High Elves, the favored race of the Seraphim, took advantage of the creative energy instilled within the very essence of the world. During the following years the Elven hierarchy crafted an environment for themselves in which they were unconditionally regarded as supreme rulers. Still, even amongst the High Elves this plan was subject to controversy.

A devastating civil war ensued, with many deaths and horrific losses on all sides. The Seraphim suffered tremendously, losing many of their kind during the bloodshed. When the war came to an end, the High Elves segregated into several tribes. Some steadfastly refused to harness the creative energy and turned to nature as a new way of life. Those High Elves advocating the use of creative energy divided into two factions: The first worked to return the world and its races back to its former glory and relative stability, while the second - a largely religious group - intending to use the creative energy to spread a "cleansing" fire over Ancaria. These Elves were determined to emerge as leaders when the fire fulfilled its purpose. Another civil war looms menacingly on the ever-darkening horizon.

What is T-Energy?

Excerpt from Book 5 of the Books of Magic:

"What is it?"
"T-Energy."
"What does it do?"
"It glows blue."

T-Energy is a primal and dangerous energy source which has been guarded by the Seraphim since the beginning of time. Passed on to the High Elves who harnessed its power, it became the dominant energy supply in Ancaria. However, some High Elves (and indeed most other peoples) opposed the use of T-Energy, and thus began a controversy which culminated in the great war. This conflict is still growing, and if another deadly war breaks out, it may well determine the fate of all Ancaria. Which side will win: order or chaos?

Today, Ancaria lays in ruins, with T-Energy flowing out of control and poisoning the forests and fields. Beings living near broken pipes or pools of T-Energy are often mutated into aggressive monsters, which wreak havoc and bring destruction upon the land.

T-Energy pools can be seen all around Ancaria, and look like deep blue pools of water. Adventurers can typically find T-mutants lurking nearby, so care must be taken when approaching them.

Effects of T-Energy

T-Energy has several effects, both positive and negative:

1. It will cause a small amount of damage to non T-mutations that stand in it.
2. It will considerably heal wounds of T-mutations that stand in it.
3. If an opponent has a T-mutation counterpart, it will mutate into that counterpart when it touches T-energy.

  • Tip- Leading a monster to a pool of T-Energy will cause it to mutate and become stronger. Invisible foes, such as Ghosts in the Jungle Region, will lose both their invisibility and champion status, making them easier to defeat.
