Detailed Walkthrough
On the way from the High Elf frontier to Griffinborough you find Martin the Upstart. He tells you he has found some gold in the nearby hills, and wants the rights to mine it. But he explains if he goes to Griffinborough and leaves the place alone someone could discover it and steal his gold. Thus, he asks you to deliver a letter to his brother at Griffinborough, who will arrange the rights and make everything needed to prepare the mining.
But as you arrive at Griffinborough, and as long as you don't mind earning some easy money, you find it's better to sell the letter to Grinsbarz, the rogue. He offers you some gold in exchange for the letter, so he can take benefit from the mining rights.
