This is a Sacred Game Dictionary and has been created to help viewers browse quickly through the game's various sayings, terms and abbreviations. A

  • AR: Abbreviation for Attack Rating.
  • Agility This is one of the 32 skills and is available to all characters. Increased levels of Agility improve both your defense and Attack Rating values, making combat much easier.
  • Ancaria The fictional land in which Sacred takes place.
  • Air Magic: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Battle Mage. Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of air magic.
  • Armor One of the 32 skills. Increased levels of Armor provide greater resistance by enabling more effective use of equipment, and also permit increased movement speed by reducing the encumbrances imposed.
  • Attack Rating or AR: Indicates how effectively your character attacks foes. It is used in conjunction with the opponent's Defense Rating to calculate your chance "To Hit" an opponent.
  • Axe Lore: One of the 32 skills, It increases the speed and effectiveness of attacks made with axes. Additionally, certain axes carry a minimum Axe Lore requirement to be wielded.

B

  • Ballistics: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Dark Elf. Improves the regeneration rate and attack speed (casting animation) of traps.
  • Battle Mage or BM One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Bellevue The town you start the game in.
  • Blade Combat: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Dark Elf. Increases the speed and effectiveness (ie. attack rating) of attacks with Dark Elven blade weapons.
  • Bloodlust: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Vampiress. Improves the regeneration rate for vampire abilities (those on the right-hand side) while in Vampire form.
  • Braverock Castle Location of one of the Ancarian Portals.

  • Celestial Magic: One of the 32 skills. Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of the Seraphim´s celestial magic.
  • Crow's Rock Castle A town in Ancaria. You encounter DeMordrey for the first time here in Single Player games.
  • Charisma: One of the six attributes that each character starts with.
  • Concentration: One of the 32 skills. Concentration reduces the regeneration rate of nearly all the Combat Arts that are not magic based.
  • Constitution: One of the 32 skills. Constitution Increases maximum life energy and improves its regeneration rate.

D

  • Daemon One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Dark Elf or DE One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Def: Abbreviation for Defense.
  • Defense Rating, or Def: Indicates how effectively your character avoids enemy attacks. Used in conjunction with opponent's Attack Rating to calculate the "To Be Hit" chance.
  • Dexterity: One of the six attributes that each character starts with.
  • Disarming: On of the 32 skills. Increases the chance to disarm opponents in combat. Amount of disarmed items changes depending on foe. From most foes it can disarm weapons and shields, but some foes also carry armors and special items.
  • Dual Wielding: One of the 32 skills which enables the wielding of two single-handed weapons during combat, increases attack rating and speed and because it's a lore, will enable the use of higher leveled weapons without penalty.
  • Dwarf: One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Dwarven Lore: One of the 32 skills. Reduces the regeneration times of the Dwarf technical combat arts (including Cannon Blast, Flame Thrower, Mortar Grenade, etc)

  • Fire Magic: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Battle Mage. Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of Fire magic.
  • FoW: Abbreviation for Fog of War
  • Fog of War:The black, areas of the map you see. It indicates the places your character has not yet explored.
  • Forge Lore: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Dwarf. Forge Lore is a skill available to Dwarves only. It replicates the ability of the Blacksmith to forge enhancements to weapons and armor.

  • Gladiator: One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Gold: Gold coins are the unit of monetary exchange in Ancaria.

H

  • Hell Power: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Daemon. Improves the regeneration rate and the casting times of Daemon spells (the top row of Combat Arts, including Tentacles, Dread, Infernal Power, etc).
  • Horses: These are mounts that almost any character class can use for modifying movement speed and combat arts. Horses have their own specific attack (Charge) and only the Dwarf cannot use a horse.

  • KN-The abbreviation for Khorad-Nur.
  • Khorad-Nur or "KN" - The orc town just south west of the Oasis of Ahil-Tar. This walled town contains a portal and is just north of where the dragon D'Cay can be found.

L

  • Life Leech or LL One of many mods or modifications that can be added to weapons and armor through use of runes, amulets and rings. The percentage of the leech is the percentage of health you get when you do damage to the monster. This modification works even after death resulting in dead characters with full health due to very high life leech levels.
  • Long-handled Weapons: Is both one of the 32 skills and a classification of weapon type which allows use of Polearms,Spears and Staves.

  • NPC An NPC (Non Playing Character) is a character in Ancaria that you can interact with, not associated with a player in the game; they are controlled by the game itself.

O

  • Orc Cave or OC A cave to the south east of Khorad-Nur filled with Orc boss mobs, allowing for quick XP & improved chances of finding special items.

P

  • Parrying: One of the 32 skills. Attacks can be parried (deflected) with weapons and shields. This increases a character's defense.
  • Perma-Vamp: A process of putting your Turn into Vampire combat art into a combo by itself (or with other skills) so that it will regenerate while your vampire is in vampire form and allow you to cast it again as soon as you turn back into knight form.
  • Power Leveling A way to increase your character's level very quickly. To achieve this a lower level character partners with a much higher level character.

  • Ranged Combat: Ranged Combat is one of the 32 Skills. It is available only to some character classes. Increased levels in Ranged Combat allow faster and more effective attacks (higher attack rating) with bows, crossbows and firearms (Dwarf only).
  • Riding: One of the 32 skills. Only the dwarf cannot pick Riding. This skill allows use of higher leveled mounts, faster speed, improved Attack Rating & improved Charge damage & duration while on horseback.

  • SC-The abbreviation for Silver Creek which is an area west of Bellevue and has been nicknamed the ""Goblin Lawn"".
  • Seraphim One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Silver Creek or "SC" - the first town you encounter once you venture out of Bellevue to the west.
  • Skills: Improve your Character Class by having you choose which of the 32 you pick and add skill points to. They can increase the strength of your Combat Arts, regeneration timers etc.
  • Strength: One of the six attributes that each character starts with.
  • Sword Lore: One of the 32 skills. Increases the speed and effectiveness of attacks with swords.

T

  • Trading: One of the 32 skills. When chosen, a merchant will offer goods for sale at a better price, will pay more for items you are selling, and are more likely to offer higher quality items. Available for all classes except Daemon.
  • Trap Lore: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Dark Elf. Improves the regeneration rate of all trap-laying abilities.

  • Unarmed Combat: One of the 32 skills. Increases the speed and effectiveness of hand to hand attacks in close combat (with bare hands or combat gauntlets)

V

  • Vampiress One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • Valley of Tears or VOT is one of the regions in the underworld expansion of Sacred. This area is characterized by some of the hardest monsters to defeat in large quantities including Sakara Demons and Cerebropods.

W

  • Water Magic: One of the 32 skills, only available for the Battle Mage. Improves the regeneration rate and the casting time of water magic.
  • Weapon Lore: One of the 32 skills. With increased points in Weapon Lore, attack effectiveness with all weapons is increased, enabling greater damage to be inflicted upon enemies.
  • Weapon Technology" One of the 32 skills. Increases the attack speed and regeneration of all Dwarf combat arts.
  • WD: Abbreviation for World Discovered
  • Wood Elf One of the eight character classes that can be played in Sacred.
  • World Discovered: is a statistic found in the log book to reflect the percent of Ancaria a character has explored.
  • Wounds Increase Damage Dealt or WIDD One of the many mods or modifications that can be applied to weapons and armor through the use of amulets, rings and runes. This mod increases the damage you do as your health level drops. The closer to death you are the greater the damage you do to monsters.

  • Zhurag-Nar or ZN A region in Ancaria. This area is west of Braverock Castle and contains a portal.
