Sacred 2:Items/Usable Item Levels
Usable Item Level
Characters can not use items that have too high a level. The usable item level depends on the level of the character. A level 40 character, for example, can not equip items that have level 53 or more.
A character equipping a piece of armor who's level is higher than the character's own will result in a movement speed penalty. This penalty is reduced through use of Armour Lore, essentially increasing the character's level for the purpose of equipping gear with no penalty.
Equipping a weapon or shield that has a level higher than your own will result in an attack speed penalty. This penalty is reduced through one of the six specific Weapon Lores:
Equipping Jewelry comes with no overt penalty, however, if you socket higher level jewelry into an item with a lower item level the equipment level will increase to match that of the highest level ring/amulet/rune within it. Socketing jewelry in this way, for example, by using a piece of jewelry from a much higher level, may increase the level of the item to make it unusable for the character.
Forging a gold, platinum or niobium rune, will, like jewelry as mentioned above, als raise the level of the item, perhaps making it unusable for the character at that level.
- Gold rune is a level 20 item.
- Platinum rune is a level 35 item.
- Niobium rune is level 50 item.
The only exception to the table below is the BeeEffGee which can be equipped by the Seraphim character regardless of level as long as it can be cast. For example, it is possible to use a level 150 BeeEffGee at character level 100.
