When Doc Brown asks marty how much power it requires to start up his flux capacitator, the answer is 1.21 gigawatts. this is rougly the amount of power generated by a lightning bolt.
the Great Scott Doc Brown is referring to is most likely the Arctic explorer Robert F. scott.
