12.gif Causes fire damage and decreases opponents’ fire resistance within a certain radius. Allied players receive a bonus to ice resistance. It can damage most monsters on screen. As well, if you are surrounded by numerous monsters when this Combat Art is cast, it will spawn 1 damage point (looks like a mini-volcano) per monster. Can be modded to give further monster Fire resist reduction, more damage, reduced monster attack speed & others.

Usage Strategies

Gather as large a mob as you can, then cast Firey Ember while they're all beating on you. If this is done well, each monster will be damaged by several of the damage points/volcanoes, thus giving much increased damage, chance to set monsters on fire, etc.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Useful against very large mobs that aren't moving (ie, they're in melee range of you)
  • Fire resist reduction could be useful when paired up with a fire High Elf

Cons

  • Very low damage
  • Very low damage increase per level
  • 30 second cooldown (not modified by Concentration, Source Warden Focus or Stamina) in addition to the regen
  • If a monster moves off the damage point/volcano, it won't take any damage
